The Right Track program focuses on providing employment opportunities and professional skills training for youth in Saint Paul. Each Summer, FilmNorth works with Saint Paul’s Right Track program to hire youth to create short short artist profile videos about the McKnight Media Artist Fellows. The youth also gain experience with interviewing, e-mailing, time management and resume building as well as video production and various computer software and editing skills. Right Track workers at FilmNorth also meet with local visiting artists and participate in local college visits.

Meet this Summer’s FilmNorth Right Track Youth!
Alura (she, her, hers) is a high school student who enjoys painting as a hobby, prefers to work on landscape paintings, and likes to bead in her free time. She volunteers with several youth groups by helping to take photos, videos and documenting their programs as well as special events. Alura is currently practicing how to edit videos and is most excited to learn how to properly put together stories through film.
Maliyah (she/her/hers) is a freshman in high school, where she plays soccer and basketball. She enjoys taking instant film pictures and recording peaceful protests. She’s most excited to learn how to edit and record better during her summer at FilmNorth.
