iPhone Photo Editing

Starts May 11

In-person. 1 session: Saturday, May 11, 9:30 am-3:30 pm

Shooting photos is only one part of photography; for their photos to look their best, you also have to edit them! In this beginning-level class you’ll learn how to edit your iPhone photos using the incredible free app Snapseed.

You’ll learn editing concepts, including why we should edit our photos, what we can do in editing, and how to develop an editing strategy. We’ll also cover the basics of Snapseed: how to adjust brightness, contrast, white balance, add vignettes, remove blemishes, and how to adjust only part of the photo using Snapseed’s powerful tools. Then we’ll edit some photos together to help everyone get comfortable with the app. By the end of the class, you’ll be able to edit all your existing photos with your newfound skills and confidence.

No previous photography experience required, but you’ll need an iPhone, and you’ll need to download the free app Snapseed. You’ll also be provided with some photos ahead of time so that we’re all working with the same images during class time. Note: Android users are welcome, but Snapseed doesn’t work identically in both platforms, so some of the workshop content might not apply. There is a lunch break.

NOTE: this in-person course is held at FilmNorth, 550 Vandalia Street, Suite 120, Saint Paul, MN 55114. FilmNorth is following CDC’s current COVID-19 variant guidance for Ramsey County:

  • People with any COVID-19 symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should stay home.

Tuition: $180 regular | $145 member | $115 low-income
