DaVinci Resolve Color Correction Overview

Starts March 18

1 session: Saturday, March 18, 10 am–4 pm

Da Vinci Resolve is industry-standard for color correction in film and video, and it’s free to download. Resolve has been used for many popular films and TV shows, and the free version is almost entirely functional – close enough for anyone but the pros. Resolve is also famously intimidating. The interface can be confusing and challenging to navigate. Many people excitedly download Resolve, open it, have one look at the manual, and promptly give up.

Fear not! This introduction to Da Vinci Resolve (for Mac) walks participants through the application interface in a way that makes sense of it. You’ll learn about Resolve’s three kinds of color tools and how to quickly find and use them – both individually and in combinations that make them even more powerful. You’ll leave with the ability to easily color correct (white balance) shots, remove color casts, match shots in scenes, and create “looks” that will greatly improve the quality of your productions. iMacs provided. There is a lunch break.

Tuition: $125 regular/$100 member/$75 low-income
