Creative iPhone Photography
Starts April 19
4 sessions: Thursdays, April 19–May 17 (no class May 3), 6:30–9:30 pm
In this beginning-level class you’ll learn how to make amazing photos with nothing more than your iPhone. You’ll learn how to work with different apps for shooting and editing to improve your images, plus tips for sharing your images on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms. There will be some in-class shooting and editing demonstrations and plenty of examples from which to learn.
We’ll discuss photography basics, the specific aesthetics of mobile photography, and how to make images that will attract attention on social media. Each week we’ll focus on one topic, such as composition, light, and editing, and there will be homework assignments designed to help you learn the topic and become a better photographer. After the first class session we’ll begin by reviewing everyone’s work to critique it and learn from one another in a positive, open environment. No previous photography experience required, but you’ll need an iPhone for shooting, editing, and sharing.
Tuition: $235 regular/$175 member/$130 low-income
