2 sessions: Saturdays, February 27–March 5, 1–5 pm

In this class you’ll learn advanced techniques for shooting and editing amazing photos with your iPhone. We’ll spend the first session talking about different apps for shooting and editing, learning how to improve our images in a simple lighting workshop, and some advanced editing techniques using VSCO, SuperImpose, Filterstorm, TouchRetouch, Rays, LensFlare, and other specialty apps. At the end of the first session you’ll receive a homework assignment to create several different types of photos, and we’ll spend the second session reviewing everyone’s work to critique it and learn from one another in a positive, open environment. Basic understanding of photography (i.e., composition and exposure) and familiarity with smartphones is strongly recommended for this class. You will need an iPhone for shooting, editing, and sharing.

Eric Mueller is an artist and freelance photographer who has also worked as a filmmaker and producer in the Twin Cities for the past 25 years. His passion for photography blossomed into a full-time career for commercial and corporate clients, inducing BluDot, Explore Minnesota and Budweiser. His photography work has been exhibited at the Columbus Museum of Art (Ohio) Head On Photo Festival (Sydney), the Devos Art Museum (Marquette), the Black Box Gallery (Portland), and the Plains Art Museum (Fargo). Class Registration Guidelines & Cancellation Policy

• Space is assigned on a first-come basis. Registrations must include payment in full to be valid. Registrations are accepted beyond registration deadlines as long as space is available.
• If minimum enrollment has not been reached by 5 days prior to the start date of a class, IFP MN may cancel it, in which case registrants will immediately be notified and receive a full refund by PayPal or charge card credit (for phone or in person credit card registrations) within 5 business days. A check will be issued for registrations that were paid in cash. In lieu of a refund, students have the option of applying their tuition to another course if scheduled in the same calendar year.
  For those wishing to cancel a registration prior to the class registration deadline, 100% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $15 administrative fee. For registration cancellations received after the registration deadline but prior to the first class session, 50% of the tuition will be refunded minus a $15 administrative fee. As of a class start date, no refunds or credits/exchanges will be given.
